Oracle

Roles: Senior Manager/Director, UX

Strategic Portfolio Oversight: Commanded UX strategy and research for a high-stakes $2B telemetry and database management portfolio.

Enterprise AI Pioneer: Spearheaded the integration of Ask Oracle (AI assistant) with internal search, revolutionizing the digital workplace for 200,000 global employees.

DesignOps Architecture: Scaled the Redwood design system and institutionalized Design Operations, migrating a 30+ person team to modern, real-time collaboration frameworks (Figma, Jira, Wrike).

Multidisciplinary Leadership: Directed a diverse bench of designers, researchers, and content specialists, establishing a high-trust environment rooted in psychological safety. By fostering a culture of continuous growth and radical candor, I empowered the team to embrace data-driven experimentation and rapid product modernization.

2019

Stepping into a role previously held at the Director level, I knew I had to move fast on three things: the culture, the politics, and the product. I started by salvaging human capital—mentoring a team member from the brink of termination back to being a vital contributor—while mapping out a global redesign of our employee experience. It was a classic 'building the plane while flying it' scenario; we were redesigning global tools while the global design system itself was in flux. I thrive in that kind of beautiful chaos—leading the first team to launch a Redwood-branded product and turning a moving target into a unified, high-adoption reality.

2020-2021

Since we were already remote-first, I was able to move beyond the logistics of collaboration and focus on the human resilience of my team. I prioritized personalized engagement and team-building to keep our momentum high while the world was in flux. We viewed the Redwood evolution not as a hurdle, but as an opportunity to showcase the power of data-driven UX. By establishing a strategic partnership with Global UX Leadership, we ensured our initiatives remained aligned with the broader enterprise vision.

During a critical hiring freeze that left us under-resourced, I pivoted from pure strategy to active production, contributing IC skills to design and architect a bespoke, customizable dashboard for our global intranet. We partnered with IT and HR Enablement to unpack deep-stack challenges and offered our research 'engine' to other departments—running interviews and SUS analysis that reached across the entire Oracle ecosystem. This proactive service-design approach didn't just add value; it made our team’s impact undeniable to our global business partners.

2022-2023

AI Strategy & Digital Transformation

  • Enterprise AI Orchestration: Partnered with Global UX Leadership to define the deployment strategy for Ask Oracle AI across the internal ecosystem. I governed the cross-functional steering committee to evaluate bespoke vs. federated architectures, ensuring the chosen path balanced technical scalability with a superior user experience.

  • Design Thinking Integration: Facilitated executive working sessions for HR leadership, embedding Design Thinking methodologies into their strategic planning to streamline prioritization, enablement, and the definition of high-impact product requirements.

  • C-Suite Advisory: Served as a primary UX stakeholder for SVP and C-level briefings, translating complex experience data into actionable business intelligence to drive enterprise-wide alignment.

Operational Growth & Inclusive Leadership

  • Precision Content Strategy: Led continuous, data-driven research to optimize the delivery of company-critical content—analyzing platform preference and timing to maximize employee engagement.

  • DEI Engagement Catalyst: Spearheaded the expansion of DEI and Employee Resource Group (ERG) content, significantly increasing the discoverability and visibility of inclusive initiatives across the global workforce.

  • ERG Executive Leadership: Appointed Co-Communications Officer for OPAL (7,500+ members); modernized the organization's digital presence by architecting communication frameworks and social strategy presented directly to Oracle's executive leadership.

Strategic Resource Management

  • Technical Gap Bridging: Identified a critical knowledge gap during a high-stakes CMS platform migration; proactively expanded my team to hire and mentor a Content Migration Specialist, ensuring technical success for a project that sat outside the traditional design scope.

2024-2025

Strategic Leadership & Organizational Mobility

  • Strategic Scope Elevation: Recognizing a shift in the digital roadmap, I proactively pivoted from internal experience strategy to a Director-level mandate within the Observability & Management (O&M) division—overseeing the UX evolution of a $2B Cloud and On-Premise telemetry portfolio.

  • Legacy Modernization: Orchestrated the transition of mission-critical systems—some spanning 30 years of legacy architecture—onto the modern Redwood design system. This required navigating extreme technical debt while maintaining service continuity for enterprise SaaS customers.

  • Silo Transformation: Modernized a fragmented engineering culture by dissolving decades-old silos, institutionalizing cross-functional collaboration frameworks, and forging a strategic bridge with the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) design organization.

Technical Resilience & Product Innovation

  • Agile Execution in "Flight": Managed a "building the plane while flying it" scenario, aligning disparate product roadmaps under a unified design vision without interrupting a multi-billion dollar revenue stream.

  • Hands-on Design Leadership: Addressed critical understaffing by personally translating and applying Redwood design patterns across the O&M and Operations Insights suite, ensuring brand consistency and technical feasibility.

  • SaaS Revenue Enablement: Spearheaded the design and architecture of the Chargeback feature for Ops Insights, a mission-critical tool designed specifically to meet the fiscal reporting needs of Tier-1 Enterprise SaaS clients.
